Lester's new book The Violets Are Mine - Tales of an Unwanted Orphan, is a memoir of his life growing up in an orphanage and in foster care in World War II England. It has taken him over 30 years to get this book to print. He began writing it as he related these tales orally to the captive audience on his tours when he was a tour director in England, the tale coming from true events and experiences of his childhood.
What he went through as an orphan was so touching, yet at times so dismal and heart-wrenching, it is hard to relate to some of it. For a glimpse of what transpired in those days, the book is not only his life, but as well a personal look at a bygone era. Rest assured it will warm your heart and clear out your tear ducts and roll you in the aisles with laughter.
Pour a cup of tea, or even a snifter or a shot of something a bit stronger to warm you, light a fire in the fireplace, put on your robe and slippers, grab a box of tissue, and begin Lester's journey.
Lester is restructuring his memoir series for Kindle so that Violets will be Book I and Book II and is currently writing Book III (not yet titled) which continues where Violets left off with Lester joining the Royal British Army.
We are fortunate that Lester has reissued a classic book of his called Did You Knows? of England which covers just about everything you'd need to know about his home country, all the little-known facts and trivia of that great country.
He gives talks to associations, organizations and book clubs about many subjects including Crop Circles, Kings & Queens of England, and A Walking Tour of England.
